Rodolfo Focarelli, born in Rome in 1992, began taking piano lessons at the age of 9. Studying under Angela Chiofalo, Laura Pietrocini, Konstantin Bogino and Maria Teresa Carunchio, he was granted his Piano Diploma in 2011 at the Conservatorio di Campobasso.

After numerous successes in solo and chamber music competitions, he won first prize in the “Piano Trio” category in 2013 in the German national “Jugend musiziert” competition.

As a soloist and in various ensembles, he has given concerts in Rome, Venice (Palazzo Cavagnis), Padova (Villa Contarini), Glasgow (Royal College of Music), Berlin (Studio Niculescu), at the Aurora Music Festival in Sweden and at the Arsana Ptuj Festival (Slovenia). In 2015 he made his debut as  soloist with orchestra, during the season “Ateneo Musica Basilicata”, where he performed Tchaikovsky's Concerto op. 23 with the National Company of Ucraine Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Sheiko.

Rodolfo Focarelli was given further lessons and masterclasses by pianists such as Mats Widlund, Alexei Kornienko, Svetlana Bogino, Vladimir Ogarkov, Christian Pohl and Lilya Zilberstein.

2016-19 he studied with professor Konrad Elser at the Musikhochschule Lübeck, where he was granted the title of Bachelor and Master of Music.

During his time in Lübeck he was awarded scholarships from Foundations such as "Possehl" and "Kiwanis" and was able to gain important experience in chamber and orchestral music - as a soloist in 2018 with the Ensemble Alte Musik under the direction of Prof. Hans Jürgen Schnoor, in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (Easter Tour 2019) and in the Mahler Academy in Bozen (Italy 2019), where Schubert's complete chamber music works have been performed.

Right now he studies his second Masters in Piano accompaniment  at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.

His very active as a teacher, working for Junge Musikakademie Hamburg and for Klavierkinder in Lübeck.
